YUSUF AUDU – DIRECTOR
Engr. Yusuf Audu is a highly accomplished engineering and business executive with over 30 years of distinguished leadership experience spanning the oil and gas industry, strategic operations management, project execution, corporate governance, risk management, and business transformation. Throughout his career, he has successfully led multi-billion-dollar projects, driven operational excellence, and provided strategic leadership across some of Nigeria’s foremost energy companies.
As a Director of FIRSTMIDAS Microfinance Bank Limited, Engr. Audu contributes a wealth of executive management experience, strategic insight, and sound governance expertise. His broad experience in corporate leadership, enterprise risk management, stakeholder engagement, and business development provides valuable guidance to the Bank in achieving sustainable growth and delivering long-term value to its shareholders and customers.
Engr. Audu currently serves as the General Manager of Etihad Oilfield Services Limited, where he oversees turnkey drilling projects, asset management, project delivery, and business development initiatives. Prior to this, he was Executive Director, Well Engineering and Production at Havilah Hydrocarbon Resources Management Limited, providing strategic oversight for marginal field development, well engineering, production operations, quality assurance, and project management.
Earlier in his career, he held several senior leadership positions at Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc, including Corporate Drilling Manager, Drilling Manager, and Team Leader (Well Delivery), where he was instrumental in building high-performing technical teams, managing major drilling programmes, strengthening operational controls, and delivering large-scale exploration and production projects.
Engr. Audu also enjoyed an outstanding career with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and Brunei Shell Petroleum, serving in key technical and leadership roles including Senior Drilling Supervisor, Well Delivery Engineer, Drilling Supervisor, and Well Engineering HSE Adviser. During this period, he successfully managed complex offshore and onshore drilling operations, implemented international HSE standards, optimized well construction processes, and championed technological innovations that significantly improved operational efficiency while maintaining exceptional safety performance.
Beyond the corporate sector, Engr. Audu served as a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he taught engineering courses, supervised research projects, and contributed to academic and industrial research in process engineering and energy systems.
Engr. Audu holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Process Engineering and an Advanced Master’s Degree in Energy Management. Throughout his professional career, he has completed numerous advanced international leadership, drilling engineering, well control, project management, health, safety, and environmental management programmes, including specialist training in the Netherlands and other global energy institutions.
